- An accomplished professional having BE (Hons) Mechanical from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani , MSc(Hons) Mathematics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and PGDBM from Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar
- He has 27 years of rich experience and has been associated with Tata Steel, Magotteaux Industries (Belgium Multinationals) and Jindal Steel and Power Ltd .
- He was associated with the chrome ore beneficiation plant of Tata Steel in Sukinda Valley from project stage during 1990.
As head (Plants) , Tata Steel he has tremendous achievements in his cap.
- Achieved 359% of the rated capacity of mineral processing & beneficiation plant.
- 1st Mineral Processing & Beneficiation Plant in India to get QMS, EMS and OHSAS 18001 certification.
- As a Project Owner, increased the production capacity of plant from 3.5 lacks metric tons per annum to 6.5 lacks metric tons per annum as a brown field project.
- Instrumental in reducing electrical and mechanical breakdown from 82 hrs to 29 hrs in a year.
- National Award Winner, from Govt of India for reducing the effect of Hexavalency (Reducing from Cr+6 to Cr+3) in Chromium.
As vice president , Jindal Steel & Power Ltd achievements are
- Lead Operations of 11.25 Million Metric Tons per Annum fully automated Iron Ore Beneficiation Plant, and conceptualised Beneficiation Plant Project at another Two Locations.
- By Debottlenecking Plant Production got Doubled in one Year.
- Plant overall recovery increased by 25% and Fe in tailings reduced by 26%. .
- To Comply with Environmental norms, this plant became the first Plant in India to Introduce Press Filters to get dry Tailings in cake form.
- Reduced fresh water consumption to 50%, through improved water management system,
He is having a rich experience in related industry in Top management position. He lead Chromite Mining of Tata Steel as Agent, the foundary plant of Magotteaux Industries (European Multinationals) as Occupier and Director and also lead the ferro chrome plant of Tata Steel as Chief Executive officer, Full time director and Occupier.
- To Enhance the Knowhow of Mineral processing Mr Nath has visited Chromite Mining and Beneficiation Plant of Samancor in South Africa (The largest Chromite Mines in the World commanding over 70% of the world's economic chrome ore reserves ) to understand their mining and beneficiation operations.
- Visit of Outokumpu Chrome in Finland has given insight of Technological advacement of Outokumpu plant besides large scale operations..They are the Bench Mark in plant recovery.
- Visiting LKAB Iron Ore Mining and Beneficiation plant in Sweden has given insight about the Large scale operation of Iron Ore with state of the art technology enabling them to make pellets having 67% Iron content. This is one of the best quality pellets produced with input raw material from its beneficiation plant.
- Mr Nath also visited One of the key customers ,Japan Future Enterprises (JFE) in Japan which has developed stainless steel manufacturing by directly charging beneficiated chrome concentrate of Tata Steel Sukinda whereas other manufacturer uses ferro/charge chrome for stainless steel manufacturing. As a result JFE managed to produce stainless steel at one of the lowest costs in the world. This speaks the quality of concentrate produced in the plant headed by Mr Gyanendra Nath.
